QuirePilotFrom PDF pages to a folded booklet.
1. Open one or more PDFs. Pages are combined in the order shown. Move pages or insert blanks in the page list. 2. Choose paper, binding and one booklet or fixed-size signatures. Blank pages are added to complete groups of four. 3. In Finished book, check covers and facing pages. Select the first page of a pair and use Make these pages face when needed. 4. In Printed sheets, check the front and back of every sheet. 5. Export a print pack. The source PDFs are never modified. Undo page edit restores a page-list change.
Before the full print run
Start with Duplex-Proof.pdf: print its two pages on one sheet, one PDF page per side, matching paper size and 100% scale. Check that both TOP arrows point up when you turn the sheet. Booklet.pdf interleaves each sheet’s front and back. Do not add another booklet or two-pages-per-side setting. Upright backs normally use short-edge duplex; rotated backs normally use long-edge duplex. For manual duplex, Fronts.pdf contains fronts in order. Backs.pdf follows the selected reverse-order option. Printer face-up/face-down output varies: test feed orientation and stack order first. Assemble signatures in their numbered order, fold and bind. Keep the original PDFs.
Formats and limits
Up to 1,000 editable pages and 200 MB of source PDFs in one project. A4, A3, US Letter and Tabloid landscape output. Source crop boxes and rotations are respected; pages are fit, not cropped. Encrypted or print-restricted PDFs, interactive forms and non-link annotations are rejected. Export from your authoring app to a plain, printable PDF first. Links, forms, signatures, bookmarks and document interactivity are not preserved in imposed print PDFs. No commercial prepress bleed, creep compensation, arbitrary imposition, OCR or PDF text editing. Physical printer compatibility has not been verified; always make a proof print.
PDF won’t open?
Export a plain printable PDF in the authoring app. Remove encryption and flatten forms or annotations, keeping an original copy. If print direction is wrong, check the duplex proof first; do not impose the booklet a second time.
